FAQ

  • Wild Kin is committed to meaningful experiences in nature that support the whole child within a group atmosphere. As naturalists our goal is to awaken the senses outdoors and build kinship with nature through an emergent curriculum. This means we look for those sparks of interest within each child that we can nurture and help flame.

Through modeling, storytelling, music, craft and group projects your homeschooler will invisibly be learning ecology, natural history, art, engineering and more while also fostering friendships and building resilience outdoors.

  • With nature connection as our goal, we make projects available that utilize the natural world around us. Our teachers model and incorporate skills like whittling, shelter building, weaving, friction fire, navigation, nature journaling, and foraging into the classes on a regular basis, while also offering seasonal projects like acorn processing, natural dyes, wild pottery, tool making, and more.

  • Yes! We are an approved Blue Ridge Vendor. If there is another charter you would like us to partner with, please reach out!

  • Wild Kin’s leaders are educators, naturalists, adventurers, and mothers. Homeschool enrichment is lead by Kat and Desere, meet them here
