Homeschool Enrichment Teacher

Most of my childhood was spent climbing the hill in our backyard, exploring the open space behind our neighborhood, and being in water. I did synchronized swimming for several years, moved up to swim team, and finally was varsity captain of the water polo team in high school. My teenage and early adult years were spent as a camp counselor and lifeguard. I then went to UCLA, got a civil and environment engineering degree and helped run the hiking club. I continued on to get my Masters in Education and taught high school math. I loved watching kids learn and being a part of their aha moment!

Now I have four little ones of my own and every day I get to explore and discover with them. I have found there is no better environment to foster curiosity and wonder than the outdoors. Since my older boys started forest school three years ago, they have learned so much about plants and animals, and also about themselves.

To me, nature is humbling and provocative. It’s challenging and comforting. And now I get to combine my skills as an educator and as a parent, to immerse in nature while also being a part of the homeschool community. I can’t wait to explore the local landscape and create outdoor memories with you all!
